A shot that appears to take place inside a structure — a house, a cave, a car, etc.— regardless of where the shot actually takes place. Most interiors are shot indoors, though during the Silent Era (c. 1886-1930) interior sets were often built outdoors to take advantage of natural sunlight.

Amelia (Essie Davis) notices something strange coming from the kitchen. After she enters the kitchen, a cockroach lands on her shoulder. She brushes it off and notices more cockroaches crawling from under the fridge. She moves the fridge to her right and peels back the wallpaper and uncovers a hole and cockroaches start crawling out of it. Puzzled and worried, she gasps and jumps back. There is silence before her son, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), walks casually towards the kitchen but stops abruptly when Amelia commands him not to enter.
