Film Language Tag: animation

The use of cinema technology to give the illusion of movement to individual drawings, paintings, figures, or computer-generated images. The process traditionally refers to drawing or painting on individual cels or to manipulating three-dimensional objects and then photographing the cels or objects onto single frames of film.
